Therapy with Carolyn Smith, CMHC is a private therapy practice owned and operated by Carolyn M. Smith, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), based in Orem, Utah. We provide individual psychotherapy services to adults, with specialization in EMDR, trauma, chronic illness, grief, and related concerns. As part of our practice, we may send supportive, non-clinical text messages between sessions to clients who have explicitly opted in. These messages typically include self-care suggestions, encouragement, and gentle wellness reminders.

5. Text messaging program
If you have opted in to receive text messages from Therapy with Carolyn Smith, the following terms apply to that program:
Opt-out and support mechanisms
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "**STOP**" to +1 (801) 435-2015. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again. Carrier liability
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Message frequency and rates
As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive approximately 1–3 messages per week, depending on your enrollment in our supportive messaging program. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

6. Crisis disclaimer — important
The text messaging program and this website are NOT designed for crisis support. Messages may be sent through an automated system and replies may not be reviewed in real time.
